Foxconn seeks to hire students interested in careers involving industrial artificial intelligence, smart display, high-performance computing, 5G networks, industrial big data, smart display, and more

Milwaukee, WI – Foxconn Technology Group (Foxconn), in partnership with University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s College of Engineering & Applied Science, today hosted the second annual “Foxconn Day” at the UWM Engineering and Mathematical Sciences Building. The full-day event was an opportunity for students to learn about positions available at Foxconn in industrial artificial intelligence, industrial big data, smart manufacturing, smart computing, high-performance computing, and 5G networks.

To offer the opportunity for students to learn more about these opportunities, Foxconn hosted a series of “Foxconn Tech Talks” at UWM by Brand Cheng, Foxconn Industrial Internet CEO, and Dr. Taiyu Chou, Foxconn Industrial Internet CTO. Both talked about how 5G networks and high-performance computing will contribute to the marketplace in Wisconsin.

During a Tech Talk last month, Foxconn announced a massive hiring initiative to recruit talented individuals in specific industry clusters, which will position the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park (WVSTP) for long-term business success. These hiring clusters include high-performance computing, 5G networks, smart manufacturing, smart display, and more.

As Foxconn continues to move forward with construction at the WVSTP, graduates from UWM and across Wisconsin will play an important role as the workforce of tomorrow. Building upon last year’s success, Foxconn will continue its partnership with UWM to accept engineering and computer science students into their International Engineering Co-op Program. The students, who will study at Chung Yuan Christian University and work at Foxconn subsidiaries in Taiwan from February 2020 through the summer, will learn about emerging technologies in smart display that will be applied in Wisconsin at the WVSTP.

Students and professional candidates from across Wisconsin interested in exploring career opportunities with Foxconn are asked to visit Foxconnjobs.us to learn more. Recent graduates or professionals in the early stages of their careers are also invited to contact recruitment@foxconn-wi.com to learn more about the Foxconn Future Leaders Program.
